As many of you found out over Thanksgiving - Eric and I are expecting again!! We are very excited, but Nathaniel still keeps telling us that he does not want a baby in the house. He seems to really enjoy them at Daycare, but when it comes to bringing one home he is not so sure about it. Though I really am not sure he is getting the concept, since I am really not showing and the picture that we have is a lot of black and gray with a little blob. So we will wait and see and prepare, prepare and prepare!!! The baby was measuring a week ahead of the calendar date, so we will have to wait and see. The baby is due July 6th... I am really hoping that this one will decide that earlier is better. Being that Nathaniel was a week overdue!!
On to even more...well really not - that was the only 'news' i had, the other stuff is really just updating everyone on what goes on in our lives.
So Christmas is upon us and we could not be more the spirit of things.
We started the holiday season with our now annual trip to "The Festival of Trees". I find this the best way to start off. With a lovely Avanti's meal, a walk around looking at all the trees and gingerbread houses and our last stop at Santa's workshop - who could ask for a better evening. Also, the chance to spend some time with our dear friends - The Brees - whom we do not get to see to often lately :).

They had a little train and the two of them where very curious about how the rubber mat felt!!
Nathaniel sitting very patiently while getting a snowman painted on his cheek - I think the only reason he did it was to get a little candy cane.
The finished product!! So cute!

The finished product!! So cute! Ok last year we decided that we needed to force ourselves to step out of our comfort zone. We finally got rid of the pathetic fake tree that I had gotten when I moved out of parents house for $22 at Walmart. So at the end of the season last year - we threw it away. Well today we had the fun and exciting time of going and picking out a real tree!!! It was really fun and enjoyable. After a good 1/2 hour driving around country roads we finally made it to a great pick and cut your own tree farm. What was really nice was they had some there that were already cut - so us cold blooded folk with little German blood - did not have to spend too much time out in the cold. So after a quick walk around to see what the farm had to offer, we picked our tree, they shook and netted it, helped Eric tie it to my car's roof and off we went with our very first real tree for our family. Nathaniel loved it. The tree farm had a tractor that matched grandpa's and they had two of the nicest dogs that Nathaniel spent much of the time petting. On the way home it was so cute when Nathaniel asked, "Daddy, where is my tree?" He said it with such concern and was so relieved when he heard that it was tied to the roof.

So we got the tree home and yes it is a bit tall for our house, but it was the best time spent as a family.Hope this season finds everyone in the best of spirits - it seems hard to watch the news and hear about all the things that are going on in the world, but we have to remember to have faith and enjoy the love that our families have for us and spread it to others.
Happy Holidays to you all and God Bless!!
